Axele Brulard is a fourth year undergraduate student in the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University.
Axele Brulard is majoring in Management Information Systems and plans to graduate in May 2017 with concentrations in Web Application Design and Business Analysis. She plans on continuing her education with a Masters in Data Science at Texas Tech.
She is bilingual in French and English. She also studied abroad in Spain her junior year to become trilingual, to broaden her cross-cultural communication skills, and cultural awareness.
As a hobby, Axele likes to dedicate her time to AITP (Association of Information Technology Professionals), fitness, reading, friends, and family.
Haley Sparger is a Senior majoring in Management of Information Systems with tracks in Web Design, Telecommunications, and a minor in Media Communications. She currently works for Texas Tech's Web Team and has interned with TimeForge in the past.
Outside of school, she expands her knowledge with courses through Lynda and Code Academy. She also enjoys cycling, hiking, and experimenting with technology.
After graduation, she plans to RV across the country and work as a freelancer. She is very social, so if you have any questions about MIS or learning to code, don't be afraid to reach out to her!
Riley Barrett is a senior at Texas Tech University and will be graduating in August this summer. He is majoring in Management Information Systems with a concentration in Business Analysis.
Riley has been in many leadership roles including Philanthropy Chairman for his Social Fraternity. Riley has past experience as an IT Intern at AMS Technology, located in Fife, Washington.
He has been active with AITP since Fall 2016 and has become the Director of Outreach for the Spring 2017 semester.
Patrick Pachiano is a Senior in Management Information Systems at the Rawls College of Business, at Texas Tech University. He is set to graduate in May 2018 with a concentration of networking, telecommunication, and web development.
Patrick enjoys his time off from academics freelancing, tinkering with technology, and spending time with friends and family.
His current vision is to complete his degree and succeed in cyber technology.
Tim is a senior at the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University, and is majoring in Management Information Systems with a concentration in Business Analysis. He plans to earn an MBA through the Rawls STEM MBA program after graduating with his BBA in May 2018.
Using his experience as a digital marketer combined with a BBA + MBA, his career goals include acting as a marketing project manager for several years and ultimately serving as a high-level marketing executive for a Fortune 1000 company or as a managing director of a digital marketing agency.
As the webmaster for AITP, Tim is responsible for basically everything related to the website: design, development, updates, backups, optimization, and general management.
Renee Kuria is a Senior working towards a Bachelor's in Management Information Systems. Renee has always had a love for computers and how they operate. Her concentration is Business Analysis, because she will be able to utilize both her computer and customer service skills. She is set to graduate in December 2017.
What distinguishes her from everyone else is her hard work, ambition and customer service experience. She loves being challenged with new experiences. Besides being a student she works as a student assistant at Texas Tech IT Help Central and currently holds leadership positions in Association of Information Technology Professions and Women in Business.
Leovic Mercado is a senior undergraduate student at the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University. He is majoring in Management Information Systems with a concentration in Telecommunications/ Networking.
Leovic also has more than six years of work experience in the IT industry and is currently interning in Business Intelligence at Osteogenics Biomedical here in Lubbock, TX.
He has prior leadership experience, previously serving as a Student Ambassador, Office Manager, and Historian for other organizations.
As the Director of Professional Activities, he is in charge of planning events that would help our AITP members develop and enhance their skills, in order to better prepare them for their future careers in IT.
Dio Franzak is a senior at Texas Tech University, and he is honored to serve as an officer for the Association of Information Technology at Texas Tech.
Dio is a Marine Corps Veteran that has experience in working with installing video teleconferences, developing code and troubleshooting for satellite operated switchboards, and in training Marines with developing their marksmanship skills.
With the experience that he has gained in the Marines, he feels confident in continuing his learning and contributing value to the Association of Information Technology Professionals and Texas Tech and long after graduation.
In his free time, he likes to play music, practice speaking other languages, and spend time working out for an upcoming triathlon.
Paige Rutner, Ph.D.
Paige Rutner is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Information Systems and Quantitative Sciences Area at Texas Tech University.
She received her Ph.D. in Information Systems from the University of Arkansas in 2009. Her research interests include issues relevant to student learning as well as work exhaustion, retention, and motivation in the IS/IT workforce.
Her work has appeared in MIS Quarterly, The DATA BASE for Advances in Information Systems, Communications of the AIS, and the Journal of Information Systems Education.
